The Cypress School District’s Mission is to “Inspire and empower… every student, every moment, for every opportunity!” At King School, we embrace this important mission in our daily work with students. Our top priority is the well-being and development of every child.

King School provides an exemplary educational program that also includes rich co-curricular activities to further enhance our students’ educational experience.  In our newly constructed music building, every student at King receives music instruction during the school day provided by a credentialed music teacher. Our school is fortunate to partner with the Orange County Pacific Symphony, which provides an on-site musician to work with students and deliver professional development for teachers.  As an added benefit for our children, Cypress High School sends student musicians to our campus who provide afterschool music lessons to King students.  Working in a small group setting, our students learn to play an instrument of their choice.  Furthermore, approximately seventy of our students take part in a full production of a popular musical each year. As you can see, the arts are alive and well at Clara J. King!

In addition to our music program and our dedicated music facility, students enjoy spending instructional time in our state-of-the-art STEM lab where students conduct experiments, test their hypotheses, and create designs while applying their learning of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. At King, students also use technology in the classroom, where they explore history, conduct research, and prepare evidence-based presentations. These are just a few of the many exceptional programs we provide for our students that enable them to explore their interests and reach their full potential.

King students also benefit from our strong partnerships with parents, community organizations, and local businesses. Without a doubt, our PTA is an amazing group of dedicated parents, who graciously give of their time and energy to support our school program. We also appreciate our relationship with Cypress College, which provides King students with supplemental physical education lessons taught by aspiring physical education teachers. One only needs to visit our annual Harvest Carnival or Spring musical production to witness the outpouring of support we enjoy from our community—many of whom are former King students who return to give back to their school! We are truly fortunate to have such thoughtful and generous individuals as part of the King School family.

The success of a high quality educational program is ultimately grounded in caring and supportive relationships…between teachers and their students, staff and families, and school and community.  As a result of these committed relationships, our students love coming to school, and they love learning at King School!
