We are very excited to off the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) at King School. This nine week institute, offered in both English and Spanish, will help you better understand all aspects of your child's school experience. This unique opportunity is offered for the very first time in the Cypress School District. Classes will be held both in the morning and evening on Tuesdays and child care is available. Please return the bottom portion of the attached flier to register.
Our Fall Fundraiser begins on Monday, August 28th and runs through Friday, September 8th. King PTA appreciates all efforts to participate in this fundraiser. All orders and money are due on Friday, September 8th. Please make checks payable to Clara J. King PTA. Remember to turn in your coupons daily as items are sold. We hope you will be able to join us for our two upcoming Family Nights. On Thursday, September 14th, we have a Family Restaurant Night at Ono Hawaiian BBQ located in La Palma. 50% of the proceeds from this Restaurant Night will go towards 6th Grade Outdoor Science Camp. Our second Family Night is a Movie Night which will be held on Friday, September 22nd. This is replacing the previously scheduled campout. The Bookfair will also be open during this family event. The King School Student Advisory Committee is collecting boxes of Mac & Cheese for our local Food Bank. Donations may be delivered to your child's classroom. Thank you for your support!
King School invites the Cypress community to join us on Wednesday, March 21st at 7:00 p.m. for a FREE concert performed by the Orange County Pacific Symphony.
This is part of the Class Act Program at King School. Our theme this year is "Trials to Triumph through the music of Beethoven".
You can also enter a drawing for tickets to Segerstrom Concert Hall and for a special lunch for your child and friend with the principal.
Also, the school office will be open late and accepting enrollment packets for the 2018/2019 school year for new incoming TK, Kindergarten and 1st through 6th grade students.

During the week of November 13th each grade level will battle it out for the chance to win hot cocoa served to them by the 6th grade staff and students. The grade level with the highest number of points wins. Coins are positive and bills are negative. You put your coins and bills in the grade level buckets during first recess. The grade level leader will be announced daily to help you plan for the next day. The winner on Friday wins!
Let's join together to raise money to send our 6th grade students to Outdoor Science Camp. All monies received will be used for camp. Watch the videos produced and featuring our 6th grade students for more information.

Our 2nd Trimester Awards will be held on Monday, March 19th and Tuesday, March 20th. Notices for the awards will be sent home via School Messenger on Tuesday, March 13th. Please see the parent letter attached to the email for the specific times.
King School will host its annual Winter Showcase on Friday, December 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Tickets for the talent show go on sale on Monday, Dec. 4th. Tickets are $3.00 pre-sale and $5.00 at the door. A Silent Auction will be held from 5:30-7:00 pm and concessions will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit 6th Grade Outdoor Science Camp. The flier and ticket order form are attached.
The APEX Fun Run will be held on Thursday, January 18th. Each day over the next two weeks, our students will participate in leadership lessons and classroom challenges. This program combines character lessons, fitness and a leadership program with fundraising. King PTA is hopeful that this fundraiser will be successful and will be also be our last PTA school-wide fundraiser for the school year.
