Parking Lot Safety

An enthusiastic thank you to the parents, family members, and after school care providers who consistently follow our parking lot rules. Everyone knows that a trip though the King parking lot is frustrating and stressful at times, especially on rainy or early release days. These traffic nightmares and delays can be avoided if everyone follows the procedures outlined below, as most of you have been doing. The greatest impact to an orderly trip through the parking lot occurs when someone does not follow the parking lot safety rules. This creates a backup for many onto Moody Street, or unsafe situations in the parking lot. Please take a moment to review the attached parking lot tips.

Come join Mrs. Teschke and Mrs. Fraser in our school library this summer. The computer lab will also be open for you to take your Reading Counts tests. Library days are listed on the website calendar below. We hope to see you there!

Enrollment for the 2018-2019 School Year begins February 14

Enrollment for new students for the 2018-2019 school year begins on Wednesday, February 14, in the school office.

There is a TK/Kindergarten Parent Information Meeting on Tues., February 13th at the Cypress Community Center. See the attached flier for more information.

State PreSchool on the King Campus: Families interested in the State PreSchool program may call Martha at (714) 220-6752 for more information and to be placed on an "Interest List" See the attached fliers for more information

King School TK/Kinder Information Tour & Meeting will be held on Friday, Feb. 16th at 10:00 a.m. along with a Parent/Teacher Q & A on Friday, April 20th at 6:00 p.m.

California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)

All students in grades three through six will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) at some time between April 23rd and May 11, 2018. Practice for this test started on April 9th. Please have your child get to bed on-time and make sure that he/she eats breakfast & arrives at school on time. Registration Day, August 5th

Join us on Saturday, August 5th to Register for Class. We will begin at 9:00 am. Classroom pictures will be taken, and you will be able to order your school spirit shirts. Beginning of the year paperwork will be completed and you will learn who your child's teacher is.

Parent Institute for Quality Education at King School (PIQE)

We are very excited to off the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) at King School. This nine week institute, offered in both English and Spanish, will help you better understand all aspects of your child's school experience. This unique opportunity is offered for the very first time in the Cypress School District. Classes will be held both in the morning and evening on Tuesdays and child care is available. Please return the bottom portion of the attached flier to register.

Fall Fundraiser

Our Fall Fundraiser begins on Monday, August 28th and runs through Friday, September 8th. King PTA appreciates all efforts to participate in this fundraiser. All orders and money are due on Friday, September 8th. Please make checks payable to Clara J. King PTA. Remember to turn in your coupons daily as items are sold. All proceeds will benefit all King students. Thank you for your support of King school!

Upcoming Family Nights

We hope you will be able to join us for our two upcoming Family Nights. On Thursday, September 14th, we have a Family Restaurant Night at Ono Hawaiian BBQ located in La Palma. 50% of the proceeds from this Restaurant Night will go towards 6th Grade Outdoor Science Camp. Our second Family Night is a Movie Night which will be held on Friday, September 22nd. This is replacing the previously scheduled campout. The Bookfair will also be open during this family event. Fliers are attached with more information. We hope that you can join us!
