all right I miss at Roman and Welcome to our award presentation and promotion to 7th grade and before I this is peshke did you want to say some things thank you mr. pink mr. tronic before his Decades of service King's school district is retiring this year and he and he has been the driving force that consistent dad has led the sixth grade team for over 2024 years mr. Coleman is it 24 24 years so he and I were both 6th grade teachers together many years ago we used to elaborate Universal sixth grade team so I've known him a long long time and I'm very very sorry to see him go but very thankful that he has touched the lives of so many sixth grade students his calm nature and his way of problem solving and working with students is a wonderful role model for our kids to see and I want to be more like 10 when it comes to stay I would like to learn from mr. trollman but first we look as we sit here in this new meeting today none of you envision this a few years ago when your kids were in fourth grade. would be sitting here watching our students with masks on and part of me wants to tear up a little bit because this is not what we hope for our kids however I have spent the last enjoying every minute of watching your kids be here at school and thank you thank you thank you for trusting us to send your kids to school because they the best experience of our students the ones that actually came to school and it was a risk we took a chance but we also knew how important it was that these kids were here and not one student or staff member contacted covid at school so it works because you supported us it worked because when I have those conversations on my conversations this is really a non-negotiable these are the things we have to do that we had our coach out there working with the kids and we did everything we could to keep this as normal as we possibly could and your students your children really stepped up and took responsibility and a wonderful year in order to retire from so you know I miss the parent can getting ready to go to camp and doing all those things we can never take that back but your kids are stronger than more resilient there going to be more flexible in life they have learned that they can do things possibly they thought they couldn't and they can live without things that maybe they thought they couldn't and that's going to make them stronger in the future so right now we're sitting through some challenging time but everybody is going to grow from this and could not be more proud of the kids that are enlisted for all his room and how they came to school everyday and really did the best they could and it's just been a delight I wish it was under different circumstances that I could not be more proud so boys and girls let's all give our parents a big round of applause for supporting everything that they did because they took the chance and sent you back because they knew that was best for you and it was the worst just so thankful for that so I'm going to sit back down and enjoy the ceremony as Mister Troll and did all the work so he deserves the credit for that sell boys and girls again I want to say is that as you get older the choices that you make carry more weight in other words the choices we make have a bigger impact on our lives than they did when we were younger and so if there's one thing you can take away at what did you say well she said the choice they make do have an impact on on my future and their two Pals you can go down in life there's an easy path and there's a path that has bushes and trees rocks and that's the harder path and usually the right path is the harder path and the the easier path isn't always the best path for you so don't worry about kicking rocks out of the way and clearing those trees because you do to take the path that's going to get you to where you want to be and don't let that E-ZPass are you over there alright alright you guys I'm taking Mr Charlton I will mute myself and turn it over to you all right thank you Miss Teske get started I'm going to share the screen y'all see that alright Welcome to our awards ceremony at the first word is the presidential award educational excellence and this year we gave it for students that were working above grade level with high achievement on Star reading and the star map test I want to congratulate Adam Avalos and Chelsea new yet each of them will be getting presidential pin I guess fireworks are all right graduations out of the next door is the presidential award for educational achievements this is for showing academic achievement by working above grade level on either the start reading or the startup that's just one of those Matthew can Jennifer presidential educational achievement can also we have people coming in here score fireworks there is an award that is given by the Association of Cypress teachers that we have recipient in this class for and each year the association of Cyprus teachers or act recognizes students who show effort and achievement in all academic areas as well as excellent add a recipient is Kelsey New Year and Chelsea will be getting a certificate in thank you Chelsea all right do all your women talking about John Wooden Pyramid of Success how to be successful in school and these are the qualities that he recognized and his players John Wooden was the coach of UCLA the UCLA call team to the NCAA championships 10 times out of 11 years and he didn't just what good basketball player he wanted players that had qualities to and I each of you have many of these qualities but I'm going to focus on just wanted a little bit about one of those drinks that you had John Wooden considered success as competitive greatness you said be at your best when your best is needed and that means enjoyment of a difficult challenge and I'm calling you want to talk about is hard work and our motto this year was be nice work hard and we're going to start with Barbara hard work is self reading habits the responsibility through perseverance and Derek Jeter said they're cuter was a player on the New York Yankees he said when you put a lot of hard work to get you one goal and you achieve it that's a really good feeling so I want to recognize Kiyomi Adams for her hard work mr. Froman were these Awards voted on by the students in the classroom I just noticed that at the bottom of the awards I just that's awesome and there are some other qualities that I'm going to talk about you that are not on the chair bed and Andy Liu and I really admire your focus and wanted to keep working hard throughout throughout the year Christopher working so hard on and Kelsey new yet it is is another important quality for a successful student the feeling of trusting one's abilities qualities and judgment and I love this quote by Joe Namath we was growing up he was one of the best quarterbacks playing in the NFL for the New York Jets said when you have confidence you can have and when you have a lot of fun you can do amazing things heart recipient for confidence Ahmed I so appreciate your confidence during that I was so awesome to see thank you very much you just so blossomed it in in math class all year house beautiful and Jennifer your confidence Justin and Jay nrj today exchanges better conversations and you just took us to places that we're really great Carolina add Catalina I saw this confidence in your writing it was just so beautiful and your essays are so well-written I just want to congratulate you for that and recognize you loyalty it's a great quality to have a strong feel support or Allegiance one of my favorite authors Larry McMurtry he said the whole point of loyalty was not to change but to stick with those who stick with you and one recognized Roman call me when you have got to have been the most loyal person in class you are a first class president I'm you are so helpful and planning things and giving me suggestions for PE and setting up for the class I just want to thank you for that you were so off I think you're a mess optimism hopeful and confident about the future Helen Keller that optimism is the faith that leads to achievement Freddy I don't know who is Austin the first one in the class after Zack say good morning to me before I even to say good morning to you and that was such a great way for me to start the day so thank you for that and you're positive messages throughout the day thank you pretty andela does along with pretty because at the end of the day LOL was in the last group to leave and she would always ask me how my day was that was just between pretty and out of that was just beautiful way to start and end of days the thank you Alex for your optimism in your your positive attitude all the way to the end of the day thank you very much enthusiasm that a great quality to have be successful in school having or showing intense eager enjoyment entry and passion that will take you a long way Roald Dahl doctor said I began to realize how important it was to be enthusiastic in life my uncle taught me that if you are interested in something no matter what it is go at it. Chloe but I'm when we read the first book The Lightning Thief the first Percy Jackson book you were so passionate and so enthusiastic you to me you cheating is about the different cards that I didn't know about your passion just spread throughout the whole class so I want to thank you for that Chloe yeah Emma I know the kids have called you back and it was so beautiful it was so passionate and honest about how she fell and I just want to thank you for that, that was beautiful and ships fighting that enthusiasm I'm through like their mom I will take you a long way we had some insightful students this year having or showing an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person aren't they Vincent van Gogh who he recognized as a really great teacher but he had to have known a lot other things too and he said if you master one thing and understand that one thing well you will have inside and understanding of many things that is so true Hunter you're you're inside and knowledge that you brought to our discussions with so great and your perspective and sometimes argue the other side and that was so great to see to thank you Hunter for being our insightful student this year Zakaria stack was our resident geographer and historian and you can ask him anything about a European history or or call grefe countries country and state capitals list so appreciate it thank you very much. Persevering continuing in a course of action despite difficulty or delay in achieving success one of my favorite quotes from The Lightning Thief this year go with what your heart tells you and jewels Miss mrs. kishki I mention that it what it what a difficult year it was in the restrictions we had and we could do other things we normally do and in sixth grade. Jules you were just plugging along and keep it positive at sticking to it so that your perseverance and Angel take Angel for keep going I know you know it was rough this and you kept on bouncing back and you kept coming back and and and appreciate your hard work and math so cheap that keep that quality close to you angel as you go forward determination having willpower persistence and stick to it I love this quote if you seen The Empire Strikes Back there's this scene where Luke Skywalker is trying to get his X-Wing Fighter out of the mud stuck in a swamp and Yoda tells him to just go do it go go get your fighter stuck I'll go get it unstuck and Luke says I'll try and Yoda says do or do not there is and what do you mean there is decide if you're going to do it or don't do it at all and if you decide to do it, figure out how to do that thing that you want to do go for it Mia Restaurant such a strong determination in you and your willingness to become a better writer that was so awesome at that is such a strong skill to have thank you ma'am Aiden determination hard as the math was that we did a tin you just kept on going and I would see you I'm taking a break sometimes but you just kept going back to it that is such a great quality to have take it with you wherever thank you Aiden at our last quality I'm kindness I said our motto was be nice work hard we're going to end with the be nice part with the kind quality of being friendly generous and considerate and I know a lot of you on the pyramid is also the quality of positive chips and I know friendship was very important to us this year and this is my favorite quote Jim Bridwell what's up a rock climber in Yosemite Heroes when I was growing up and he said in the end you are not going to care about how hard you climb and you're only going to care about who you connected with and how many people you helped along and Emma better no matter how hard sixth grade words and the challenges we had you just kept leading with your kindness I'm up and that was so awesome as such a great quality to have Mia your your kindness shines all the way through all year no matter how challenging the year was and Ruby thank you for leading with kindness and I just want to say about kindness I think don't ever trade that quality for anything else that is the one that should be at the top of the I think that's going to be I want to thank everybody for joining us thank you mr. tronic parents thank you so much and boys and girls getting through this these Awards just reminding me of all the amazing things that you have accomplished this year at you should be really proud of yourself you are all equipped to go on to Junior High I am successful Amber that and remind yourself that you are all capable of being successful next year and in the future and was a big part of that and parents you're a big part of that so I'm just so thankful that I have. I spent five years with many of these these boys and girls and it's been it's been a pleasure so I'm going to miss you guys and parents if you have siblings all get to see you all next year in person at home and don't forget is school on Monday if you choose to come we hope you do that way you can see your friends for the last time for a little while so thank you mister thank you bye everybody
